SD-4 Solar Direct Aerator
The SD-4 Solar Direct Aerator is a professional-grade, off-grid solar pond and lake aeration system designed for larger ponds, remote properties, and demanding water-quality applications where utility power is not practical.
Designed for ponds and lakes up to 5 acres, the SD-4 delivers high-volume subsurface aeration using solar power directly from the PV array. There are no batteries to maintain, no monthly electric bill, no trenching to bring AC power to the pond, and no need to place electrical service at the shoreline. The system converts solar energy directly into three-phase power to run dual brushless rocking piston compressors during daylight hours.
For landowners, farms, HOAs, parks, camps, golf courses, recreational lakes, and remote water-management sites, the SD-4 provides a practical way to improve dissolved oxygen, reduce stagnation, support healthier fish populations, reduce muck accumulation, and improve overall water clarity. It is built for sites where conventional electric aeration is expensive, difficult, or impossible to install.
Solar Direct Efficiency Without Battery Complexity
The SD-Series Solar Direct platform is designed around a simple principle: use the sun to power aeration directly instead of storing solar energy in batteries first. Eliminating batteries reduces cost, simplifies installation, improves system efficiency, and removes one of the highest-maintenance parts of many solar aeration systems.
The SD-4 is engineered to run in changing sunlight. Its high-efficiency solar conversion platform allows the system to start in low-light conditions and continue operating through cloudy or adverse weather. Dual Compressor Output for Larger Waterbodies
The SD-4 uses dual 3-phase brushless rocking piston compressors for strong, efficient airflow. Brushless compressor technology eliminates the brushes used in conventional permanent-magnet DC motors, improving service life and reducing wear. With 5.6 SCFM of airflow and a rated operating depth of 2 to 40 feet, the SD-4 is built for larger ponds and higher-demand applications.
Professional-Grade Components
The system is built around a rugged, powder-coated, all-welded steel enclosure, stainless steel hardware, active compressor cooling, individual circuit protection, replaceable intake filter/silencers, full-flow brass ball valves, and USSM DB-36 stainless steel diffusers. The solar racking is made from anodized aluminum extrusion, laser-cut welded steel components, and stainless steel hardware for long-term outdoor use.

The customer supplies a 3-inch Schedule 40 or Schedule 80 steel mounting pole with a 3.5-inch outside diameter. Do not use plastic pipe or tubing for the solar mounting pole.
