SD2-BB Solar Lake Aerator with Battery Backup
The SD2-BB is a complete solar lake aerator with battery backup for ponds and small lakes up to 2.5 acres, combining the SD-2 subsurface aeration platform with a 48-volt battery backup system for nighttime operation and poor-weather reserve.
The SD2-BB is built for customers who need more than daytime-only solar aeration. It uses the proven SD-2 aeration platform with dual DB-36 stainless steel diffusers, then adds a 48-volt AGM battery bank, MPPT solar charge control, proprietary smart controls, and advanced ventilation management to support dependable aeration through the night and during extended periods of limited sunlight.
For larger remote ponds, small lakes, farms, recreational properties, wildlife ponds, livestock water, HOAs, golf courses, camps, parks, and off-grid water-quality projects, the SD2-BB delivers professional-grade subsurface aeration without trenching utility power to the pond. It helps increase dissolved oxygen, reduce stagnation, improve water clarity, reduce odors, support fish health, and promote natural biological breakdown of organic material.
SD-2 Aeration Performance with Battery Backup
The SD-2 portion of this system uses a 3-phase brushless rocking piston compressor to deliver efficient subsurface airflow to two DB-36 stainless steel diffusers. This gives the SD2-BB the aeration coverage needed for ponds up to 2.5 acres while the battery backup system adds reserve power for night operation and poor weather.
48-Volt Battery Backup for Nighttime and Poor Weather
The battery backup package uses a 48-volt AGM battery bank with four batteries. This higher-voltage design improves efficiency compared with lower-voltage backup systems and provides reserve power for nighttime operation and multi-day poor-weather conditions. The system is designed for 24/7 aeration with up to 3 days of reserve under appropriate operating conditions.
Smart Runtime, Cooling, and Battery Protection
The proprietary smart controller gives the system digital time-clock functionality for scheduled operation and full runtime control. It also actively manages the cooling fan to protect the electronics, compressor, fan, and battery system. Low-voltage shutdown helps protect the battery bank from excessive discharge, while MPPT solar charge control with Bluetooth improves charging performance and makes system status easier to monitor.
