The SD-2 Dual Panel Solar Direct Aerator is a high-performance off-grid solar pond aeration system for ponds up to 2.5 acres, with dual solar panels included for excellent low-light operation and extended daily runtime.

This complete solar-direct aeration package is designed for ponds, small lakes, remote properties, farms, livestock water, wildlife ponds, HOA ponds, golf courses, parks, camps, and other sites where utility power is unavailable, expensive, or impractical. The SD-2 Dual Panel system uses solar energy directly from the PV array to power a brushless rocking piston compressor—no batteries, AC wiring, electrician, or monthly electric bill required.

The dual-panel configuration is the preferred SD-2 package when low-light operation matters. By supplying substantially more solar input than the compressor requires at full speed under moderate light, the second panel helps the aerator start earlier, run later, and continue operating through cloudy, rainy, snowy, or heavily overcast conditions. On bright sunny days, the second panel does not make the compressor exceed its rated output; instead, it gives the system more operating margin when sunlight is limited.

Battery-based solar aerators add cost, maintenance, replacement cycles, and electrical complexity. The SD-Series Solar Direct platform avoids that problem by converting solar power directly into compressor operation. This gives you a simpler, more efficient aeration system with fewer wear items and no battery bank to maintain.

The SD-2 Dual Panel system is especially well suited for customers who want better performance during early morning, late afternoon, winter, and poor-weather conditions. The dual 60-cell solar modules provide approximately three times the power required by the compressor for full-speed operation under moderate lighting, giving the system strong operating margin when sunlight is reduced.

Subsurface Aeration for Better Pond Health

By sending air to two DB-36 stainless steel diffusers, the SD-2 helps circulate the water column, increase dissolved oxygen, reduce stagnation, improve water clarity, support fish health, reduce odors, and encourage natural biological breakdown of organic matter. Subsurface aeration is one of the most effective ways to improve overall pond and lake health, especially in warm weather and low-oxygen conditions.

Built With Professional-Grade Components

The SD-2 uses a 3-phase brushless rocking piston compressor, rugged powder-coated steel enclosure, stainless steel hardware, automatic compressor cooling, over-pressure protection, individual thermal-magnetic circuit protection, replaceable intake filter/silencer cartridge, full-flow brass valves, DB-36 stainless steel diffusers, and heavy-duty top-of-pole solar racking. It is built for outdoor service, long-term reliability, and straightforward installation.

The customer supplies a 3-inch Schedule 40 or Schedule 80 steel mounting pole with a 3.5-inch outside diameter. Do not use plastic pipe or tubing for the solar mounting pole.
