SD-1 Solar Direct Aerator
The SD-1 Solar Direct Aerator is a complete off-grid solar pond aeration system for ponds up to 1 acre, built for reliable daytime aeration without batteries, trenching, or utility power at the pond.
If your pond is too far from electrical service, the SD-1 gives you a practical way to add professional-grade subsurface aeration using solar energy. The system converts solar power directly into three-phase power for a brushless rocking piston compressor, delivering dependable airflow during daylight hours without the cost and maintenance of battery-based solar systems.
The SD-1 is ideal for residential ponds, small lakes, livestock water, remote properties, wildlife ponds, HOA ponds, irrigation ponds, and off-grid sites where conventional electric aeration is difficult or expensive to install. By moving oxygen into the lower water column, the system helps reduce stagnation, improve dissolved oxygen, support fish health, reduce odors, improve water clarity, and encourage natural biological breakdown of organic material.

The SD-1 uses professional-grade components, including a powder-coated welded steel enclosure, stainless steel hardware, automatic compressor cooling, over-pressure protection, circuit protection, a replaceable intake filter/silencer, and a USSM DB-36 stainless steel diffuser. The solar racking system uses anodized aluminum extrusion, laser-cut welded steel components, and stainless steel hardware for long-term outdoor durability.
